MATH AWARD

WINNERS AT SEM

Back Mountain residents among 20 Wyoming Seminary students in seventh and eighth-grades who recently received awards in the 2013 AMC 8 math test, sponsored by The Mathematical Association of America are Bobby Austin, Dallas, Olivia Ostrowski, Dallas, gold winners; Samuel Sweitzer, Dallas, silver award; and Olivia Meuser, Shavertown, bronze award.

GOLLHARDT NAMED

TO DEAN’S LIST

Bryden P Gollhardt, of Dallas, has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Duluth for the fall 2013 spring semester. Students on the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Gollhardt is a student in the School of Fine Arts.

DEGRABA ON

SUNY TEAM

Dominic DeGraba, of Dallas, was a member of the 2013-14 SUNY Oneonta wrestling team. The Red Dragons finished with an overall dual meet record of 10-9. Oneonta finished tied for fourth at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championships, and 8th at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships.

A freshman, DeGraba finished the season with an overall record of 15 wins and 22 losses. He placed sixth at the ECWC championships to earn All-Conference honors.

RUCH INDUCTED

INTO SOCIETY

Stephen Ruch, of Dallas, was one of 11 Wilkes University education majors inducted into Phi Phi, the University’s chapter of the international honor society in education Kappa Delta Pi. At the ceremony the honorees received a certificate and honor cords to wear at graduation.

The son of Ted and Dianne Ruch, Ruch is a junior middle level education major with a specialty in mathematics.
