Oil paintints on display at library

The April Art Wall Display at the Back Mountain Memorial Library is a collection of oil paintings by artist Vita Reddy of Shavertown. Reddy received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the State University of New York at Albany and has taught in several states. She began painting in oils when her husband was deployed to Vietnam in 1967. She put down her brushes to raise her three sons and teach and did not pick them up again until 2005 when she retired from the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. Reddy’s stunning masterpieces depict some of the places she and her husband have visited in the last few years, including Venice and Yellowstone Park.
