‘Stop Hunger Now’ volunteers pack meals

The Orange United Methodist Church hosted a “Stop Hunger Now” meal packaging event on Sept. 13 The event was supported both financially and with volunteers by many United Methodist churches in the Back Moutan area.

Loyalville, Maple Grove, Mt. Zion, Dymond Hollow, Trucksville, Dallas, the Noxen/Kunkle/Alderson Charge, Centermoreland, Lehman/Idetown and Forty Fort churches all helped in some way to help package over 13,800 meals for the organization “Stop Hunger Now.” There were over 70 volunteers who had a great time working together to lively music to accomplish this mission.

“Stop Hunger Now” is an organization whose vision is a world without hunger. Meal packaging events are held in which the hosting group provides the funding to cover the cost of the ingredients for the highly-nutritious, dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy vegetables, flavoring and essential vitamins and minerals. The hosts also provide the volunteers to package the meals and ready them for shipment all over the world.
