During a special meeting held on Sept. 25th at the Municipal Building, Dallas Township, Supervisor Chairman Frank E. Wagner, Vice Chair/Assistant Secretary-Treasurer Elizabeth Martin and Supervisor William Grant unanimously approved American Asphalt’s bid of $97, 093 for work on East and Poplar Streets. The work will include paving and storm drainage re-construction of the streets.
American Asphalt, of Shavertown, was the lone bidder.
The bid is accepted subject to the approval of Engineer Representative Tom Doughton of Trumbower and Associates. Doughton will examine the estimates given by American Asphalt in order to make sure that a “balanced bid” was presented.
The following is a break down of the bid:
* Adjust inlet rim – $1,000
* Paved gutter wear overlay – $14,925
* Super pave (excavation, binder course) – $16,146
* Broom and rack coating – $4,912
* Scratch coat – $14,652
* Super pave (wearing course) – $44,208
* Traffic control – $1,250
* Total – $97,093
The Dallas Township supervisors meet at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
