The University of Scranton’s Hope Horn Gallery in Hyland Hall will exhibit works from the 45-year career of local artist and art professor Herbert Simon, of Shavertown.

The exhibit, “Object and Image: Sculptures and Prints by Herbert Simon 1960-2014,” will be on display in the Hope Horn Gallery until Friday, Oct. 10.

In addition to teaching sculpture at Wilkes University, where he is a professor emeritus, Simon has completed public sculpture commissions including “Aloft,” displayed at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and “Two Modules,” displayed at Coal Street Park in Wilkes-Barre. Smaller models of these commissions will be on display at the exhibit.

“Object and Image: Sculptures and Prints” is the first of several exhibits scheduled for display at The Hope Horn Gallery during the 2014-15 academic year.

The Hope Horn Gallery in Hyland Hall (corner of Jefferson Avenue and Linden Street) will be open to the public from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday through Friday and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. All exhibits at the gallery are free of charge.
