The Joan Harris Dancers will appearing at this year’s Fine Arts Fiesta at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17.

The troupe, which has been a part of the festival for 31 years, consists of dancers from across Northeast Pennsylvania from Scranton to Hazleton, the Poconos to Tunkhannock. One third of the performers appearing in the Joan Harris Centre’s presentation will be from Back Mountain communities.

Highlighting the performance will be a selection from the Harris Centre’s recent production of the classic ballet, “The Sleeping Beauty.”

The Harris Centre’s presentation will also include the first public performance of some of the production pieces that will be featured in the regional studio’s upcoming performances at the Kirby Center scheduled for June 13 and 14. These dances represent an eclectic mix of hot jazz, urban hip hop and cool tap routines
