Boback announce grants

Volunteer emergency response organizations in the 117th Legislative District will benefit from nearly 375,000, thanks to grants offered by the Office of State Fire Commissioner.

The grants are part of the Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program created almost a decade ago. Last session, the program was extended and expanded to offer a total of $30 million statewide.

Back Mountain fire and ambulance companies and the amount of their grant awards are :

· Benton Volunteer Fire Company – $12,000 for fire services and $7,091 for ambulance services.

· Dallas Fire and Ambulance Inc. – $12,000 for fire services and $7,091 for ambulance services.

· Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company – $12,000.

· Franklin/Northmoreland Townships Ambulance Association – $7,091.

· Harveys Lake Fire and Ambulance Company – $12,393 for fire services and $7,091 for ambulance services.

· Hunlock Creek Volunteer Ambulance Association – $7,091.

· Hunlock Creek Volunteer Fire Company – $12,000.

· Kunkle Fire Company – $12,972 for fire services and $7,091 for ambulance services.

· Northmoreland Township Volunteer Fire Company – $13,619.

· Noxen Community Ambulance Association – $7,091.

· Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Company – $13,295.
