Tom Rainey, the Lake-Lehman School District’s auditor, presented the results of the yearly audit to the board at the Jan. 13 meeting, projecting a surplus at the end of the year.
According to Rainey, the district experienced “a lot of additional local source revenue.” He said this will result in a $637,000 surplus.
Rainey thanked school district personnel for their assistance in completing the audit. He also said that, because Board members have approved a change to the district’s yearly calendar due to the five snow days already used this year. Students will begin to realize the changes soon as Jan. 20 will no longer be a half day.
Board members accepted, with regret, the resignation of Cory Brin as head boys’ volleyball coach and Kevin Koziol as head girls’ volleyball coach.
The board will advertise for those positions as well as for head girls’ lacrosse and head boys’ lacrosse coaches.
The following have been appointed for the 2014-2015 school year: Gerald Gilsky, head football coach; John Sobocinski, head cross country coach; Thomas Motovidlak, head golf coach; Jean Lipski, head field hockey coach; Michael Kostrobala, head boys soccer coach; and Kelly Adamshick, head girls soccer coach.
The board’s next meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10 in the Junior-Senior High School library.
