Active Adult Centers sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming Counties offer hot noon meals Monday through Friday to people 50 years of age or older. For participants age 50-59 the price of the meal is $3.06. For participants age 60+ a $2.00 meal donation is gratefully accepted. The monies are needed in order to expand this program.
The following is the menu for the week of Aug. 4:
MONDAY: Oven-fried chicken, red potatoes, confetti coleslaw, whole wheat dinner roll, pound cake with berry topping, margarine, milk and coffee.
TUESDAY: Tuna salad platter with tomato, corn chowder, whole wheat dinner roll, crackers, tropical fruit, margarine, milk and coffee.
WEDNESDAY: Lemon pepper chicken, zucchini and summer squash, parmesan potatoes, whole wheat dinner roll, brownie, margarine, milk and coffee.
THURSDAY: Baked pork chop, snap peas, parsley boiled potatoes, whole wheat dinner roll, tapioca pudding, margarine, milk and coffee.
FRIDAY: Parisian Day Special – Chicken with tarragon cream, roasted potatoes, green beans, bread and butter, sliced poached pears, margarine, milk and coffee.
