Scouts attend Camp Acahela

Cub Scouts from Pack 281 in Dallas attended resident camp at Camp Acahela in Blakeslee from July 6-11. The theme for the week was “Knights and Dragons.”

During their week at camp, the boys participated in archery, BB range, crafts, obstacle course, swimming, Scout skills,

nature, fishing, rafting, sports, campfires and tubing on the Lehigh River. They also participated in rock climbing and rapelling on the new climbing wall and enjoyed a new game called Ga-Ga Ball.

Fifth-grade Scouts finished their week with a separate outpost camp. The boys earned numerous advancements and seven boys earned the Acahela Archer Award.

Maxim Gingo also earned the Acahela BB Marksman Award and Matthew Oley also earned the Acahela Naturalist Award. Patrick Frame and Matthew Oley also participated in the Polar Bear swim.
