Historic, antique and classic boating comes to life when the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc. hosts the 24th Annual Boat Show from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Grotto Marina at Harveys Lake.
The daylong event is open to the public free of charge. Sightseers can expect to see a wide range of antique and classic boats that have been restored to their original state by their owners.
“We all share a common interest in the preservation of boating’s history,” said Josh Bryant, president/boat show chairman.
The 24th Annual Boat Show at Grotto Marina gives visitors to the lake the opportunity to share fellowship, information, experience and exchange of ideas with boat enthusiasts.
Winners of the People’s Choice Award and Ladies Choice Award will be chosen by the public.
“One of the entries into this year’s contest is a beautiful World War I Era Chris Craft mahogany boat that is locally owned,” Bryant said. “We encourage sightseers to come out and vote for their favorite boat. Bring cameras,” he added.
The Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc. is a national communication channel for members, the public and any other entities regarding information relating to historic, antique and classic boating. Membership is open to the public. Boat ownership is not required.
Musical entertainment will be presented from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by John and Terry from Strawberry Jam Band.
