The Dallas High School golf team used balanced scoring Monday to finish fourth in the team standings at the Tryba Preseason Invitational, the first high school sports competition of the 2014-15 school year for Wyoming Valley Conference schools.

The Mountaineers did not have an individual in the top 12, but displayed the best balance of the event.

Jon Wilson led Dallas with an 83 while Brandon Baloh and Mason Gattuso each shot 84. Alexis Wyandt completed the team score at Fox Hill Country Club with a 90.

Crestwood edged defending state Class AA champion Holy Redeemer for the team title, 317-326. The Comets also had the individual champion when Jason Dotzel won a playoff from Holy Redeemer’s Ryan Crossin after each shot 74.

Dallas shot 341, six strokes behind third-place Wyoming Valley West.

Tunkhannock was led by Brett Soltysiak with an 83 while finishing ninth in the team standings with a four-player score of 362.

Adam Motovidlak led the way for Lake-Lehman with an 85.
