The Back Mountain Memorial Library received a collection of salt and pepper shakers donated by a library patron.

The collection consists of 50 sets of shakers, many of which are over 50 years old. The library will have these on display from now through the month of April. In addition to displaying them, the library will also sell the shakers as a fundraiser for the library. Each set will have a price near it.

The 50 sets of shakers comprise various animal figures ,including “Millie and Willie” plastic penguins, travel souvenir pieces, Christmas figures, an F & F Mold & Die “Uncle Mose” plastic figure made in the USA, along with traditional shaped sets.

Most of the pairs are ceramics but there are also plastic and metal ones. One of the metal sets is of the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building and stamped from “Occupied Japan.”
