The Wyoming Valley Striders will resurrect their historical 20K Classic Race on Sept. 13 on the beautiful Lehigh Gorge Trail, located in Lehigh Gorge State Park in White Haven, where not only will traffic not be a problem, but runners will experience the natural beauty of the area.

After holding the race in Wilkes-Barre for 18 years, the Striders were forced to cancel it due to traffic control isues.

The start and finish of the race are at the beginning of the trail and the course is close to flat. There are mile markers located along the trail and the race will utilize chip timing.

Special trophies will be presented to the top male and female finishers and medals will be awarded to at least the top 3 in each age group. A commemorative “swag bag” will be given to each entrant and post-race refreshments will be provided to the runners.

Members of the Wyoming Valley Striders receive a discount on the registration fee and Sept. 6 is the deadline for pre-registration. Registration will also take place on race day.
