In an effort to address questions and concerns of residents of the 117th Legislative District, Rep. Karen Boback (R-Columbia/Luzerne/Wyoming) today announced her legislative and veterans outreach hours for the month of November.
In an effort to address federal and state issues across Boback’s district, U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta (R-11) hosts a monthly casework day at her district office in Dallas, located at 1108 Twin Stacks Drive.
Patrick Rogan, a caseworker for Barletta, will be available from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 7 at Boback’s Dallas office. He will be available to help constituents having problems with federal agencies and programs, and constituents are encouraged to bring documents they have received from federal agencies related to their issues.
Boback will also hold veterans assistance hours from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in cooperation with the American Legion at her district office, located at 608 Hunter Highway, Suite 110, in Tunkhannock.
A claims consultant from the American Legion will provide the assistance. Area veterans may seek assistance and information pertaining to specific benefits and programs. Additional meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of every month.
Boback will also host veterans’ assistance hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at her Dallas district office.
Each month during these hours, Boback hosts a claims consultant from the Wilkes-Barre Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to address questions and concerns of local veterans and their families. No appointments are necessary for these office hours and in the event of inclement weather, each event is subject to cancellation.
Lastly, veterans are invited to this year’s Veterans Recognition Event, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Misericordia University’s Insalaco Hall and featuring several local veterans’ organizations. The event will be held in conjunction with the university, Metz Culinary Management and Dallas Area High School. It will begin with a breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a recognition event and the Veterans Expo.
The breakfast is by reservation only but the other events are open to all veterans.
