‘INTO THE WOODS’

The Music Box Players will present Stephen Sondheim’s Tony-Award musical “Into The Woods” July 27, Aug.1 and 2 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoyersville.
Soon to be a Disney movie musical starring Meryl Streep, word of mouth is it’s the best Disney musical since “Mary Poppins.”

BINGO ON JULY 28
Bingo will be held on Monday, July 28 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall In Centermoreland. Doors open at 5 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Mountain Grange No. 567 and the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at the Grange Hall, 1632 W. Eighth St., Kingston Township. To make an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767.
Grange members will also sell Italian and turkey hoagies and other food items, including ice cream cones and root beer floats, during that time.

DANCE ON THE BEACH
The Harveys Lake Borough Recreation Center will hold the annual Homecoming Dance on the Beach at Harveys Lake from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.
There will be dinner and dancing with live entertainment by Strawberry Jam.

The Music Box Theatre Academy will conduct a theatre workshop for students ages 12 to 20 beginning Sept. 15 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoyersville. The students will perform the musical, “Legally Blonde Jr.” on Oct. 17, 18 and 19. Fee is $200 if registered prior to July 31 or $250 after that date.

The Dallas Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 in the board room of the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 4 E. Center Hill Road, Dallas.
Family Service Association of NEPA will hold its Sixh Annual Pauly Friedman 5K Family Walk/Run on Sunday, Aug. 10 at Misericordia University. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration; race time is 9:30 a .m.
Cost is $25 per person and all proceeds benefit Help Line/211, a 24-hour/ 7-day per week information and referral and after hours crisis service in our community. The walk/run is open to all ages and an after race awards party will be open to all participants.

A Harmony Concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Irem Temple Country Club Pavilion, Dallas, as part of the Irem’s Summer Concert Series.
The free to the public concert will feature the Wyoming Valley Barbershop Harmony Chorus under director Raymond Patsko, of Wilkes-Barre, and assistant director Phillip Brown, of Shavertown.

Cub Scout Pack 281 will host an outdoor screening of “The LEGO Movie” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 on the lawn at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
The program will start with campfire songs and skits with the movie starting at dusk. Participants may bring a blanket or lawn chair.

The Sixth Annual Blue Chip Farms Animal Refuge Benefit Dnace will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29 at the Irem Temple Country Pavilion, Dallas, featuring music by Daddy-O and the Sax Maniax.
