At its Nov. 4 regular meeting, the board of supervisors announced that leaf pick up would be held the week of Nov. 17.
Leaves should be put in biodegradable leaf bags and placed by the curb. Once they are picked up, leaves are recycled into compost. The board pointed out that, if garbage is mixed with leaves, bags will not be picked up. Residents are also asked to refrain from raking leaves into storm drains.
The board reminded residents of the township’s winter parking ordinance which prohibits parking on township roadsbetween 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Nov. 1 through April 30.
“This is very important,” Supervisor Frank Wagner said, pointing out that road crews often have to go back over a road more than once during a snow event after owners move their vehicles.
The board announced that it will set a date for a public hearing on the township’s comprehensive plan at its next meeting scheduled for Nov 21. The planning commission approved the plan, but with some recommended changes to the land use goals and objectives.
Some revisions the planning commission proposed include the examination of current regulations for oil and gas operations to afford reasonable opportunities for such operations. Another revision to the plan is for township officials to consider creating a zoning district intended to provide for and regulate institutional uses at appropriate locations within the township.
