It was a long way to go but the Dallas Middle School cheerleaders made the trip worthwhile as they came home from the National Cheer Association National Championship in Dallas, TX with several awards.
The girls finished seventh in the nation in the time-out cheer and eighth in the traditional routine. They were three points away from the first-place team in the time-out cheer and brought up their score by eight points the second time they performed their traditional routine.
The traditional routine was scored over the course of two days. The first day was worth 25% of the total score and the second day’s performance was 75% of the total score.
This was the first time the Dallas Middle School cheer team has made it to the national championship. The girls
are excited to compete next year in hopes of making the UCA national championships in Orlando, Florida.
The team is coached by Jen Sorber.
