Ten new members were welcomed into the Trucksville United Methodist Church, 21 W. Church Road, Trucksville, after completing their confirmation journey.

Confirmation requirements included reading Scripture prior to class to discuss with their mentors during Sunday early afternoon sessions. Sessions began with fellowship at noon after church with a lunch prepared by one of the church ministry teams.

Afterwards, students spent time with their mentors discussing Scripture and attended a lesson with our pastor. Lessons included God’s message of salvation and a balanced approach to our faith: prayer, Bible study, fellowship and witness. The class also met Bishop Jeremiah J. Park, bishop of the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church, and Rev. Marian Hartman, district superintendent of the Wilkes-Barre – Scranton District.

The group attended a confirmation retreat with their mentors at the Pocono Mountain Bible Conference, and various local churches including two contemporary worship services. Ultimately, confirmands made a decision to become full time church family members and leaders committed to our mission of “Making Disciples – Making a Difference!”

Confirmation mentors were Al Blannett, Kelly Cook, Carol Hadsall, John Kozokas, Trisha Kozokas, Clarence Michael, Tania Reinert, Madelyn Roote, Debbie Shilanski and Barry Wagner.
