Thanksgiving
service
The Back Mountain Ministerium, comprised of a group of churches in the Back Mountain community, will sponsor its annual Thanksgiving Service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 105 Irem Road, Dallas.
A combined community choir will meet at the church at 3 p.m. for rehearsal.
Worshipers are asked to donate nonperishable food which will be received and dedicated during the service to benefit the Back Mountain Food Pantry, a nonprofit organization that provides food for families in need. An offering will be taken to support the ministry of the Back Mountain Ministerium. There will be a time for fellowship and light refreshments after the service.
Free meal
The Shavertown United Methodist Church will sponsoring a free turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day. The dinner will be prepared by church members and served at noon to anyone desiring to attend.
Dinner will consist of turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, carrots, cranberry sauce and pie.
