TUNKHANNOCK — Tammy Brotzman, of Tunkhannock, died July 1, 2014, in the Celtic Healthcare Hospice Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes Barre. Graveside interment was held July 5 in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola. Arrangements by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.

PANGONIS

MESHOPPEN — Beatrice Mae Pangonis, of Meshoppen, passed away on July 7, 2014, at the home of her daughter. She had family in Tunkhannock. Funeral services were July 12 at Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Nativity BVM, Tunkhannock.

WESTAWSKI

PLAINS TWP. — Martin John Westawski, 75, of Plains Township, entered into eternal life on June 25, 2014, in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, after being a patient for two weeks. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth. He had family in Dallas. A memorial celebration of Marty’s life was held July 11 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church of St. Andre Bessette Parish.

SIMONOVICH

SHAVERTOWN — Eleanor Simonovich, 90, of Shavertown, died July 8, 2014, at her home. She was the widow of Michael Simonovich. Funeral services were held July 11 at the Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, 717 Main St., Edwardsville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, North Maple Avenue, Kingston.

ROBERTS

KINGSTON — David Joseph Roberts, 81, of Kingston, died July 7, 2014, at Commonwealth Hospice Inpatient Unit at Regional Hospital, Scranton, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, the former Joan Ann Bonner, the love his life, who passed away in 2009. He had family in Dallas. Funeral services were held July 12 from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

DOBSON

HANOVER TWP. — Jean E. Dobson, 62, of Hanover Township and formerly of Nanticoke, passed into the arms of heaven at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, on July 7, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Bill Dobson. She had family in Dallas. Funeral services were held July 12 from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the main site of St. Faustina Parish, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke.

CRAWFORD

WILKES-BARRE — Karen A. Crawford, 71, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away July 1, 2014, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Surviving is her husband, Phillip, with whom she would have celebrated 45 years of marriage in October. She had family in Tunkhannock. A graveside service was held July 19 in Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top. Arrangements by the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Nancy Jane Sheerin Sabol, 81, of Hagerstown, died July 9, 2014. Her husband, Stephen A. Sabol, died on Aug. 29, 2001. She had family in Shavertown. Celebration of Nancy’s life was held July 14 from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with funeral Mass in the Church of St. Nicholas.

DALLAS — Harold A. Coolbaugh, 74, of Dallas, died on July 10, 2014, in the presence of his loving family. Surviving is his wife, the former Joyce E. Headley. Funeral was held July 14 from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

LAKE CAREY — Emily C. Vogel, 93, of Lake Carey, Tunkhannock, died July 11, 2014, at her home. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Aug. 6, 1920, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Polkabla Vascik. DALLAS — Cheryl Williams Wilson, of Dallas, 48, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 11, 2014. She will be missed by the many friends and family she cherished. A funeral service was held July 14 from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

KINGSTON — Eugene Pelesh, of Kingston, and Naples, Florida, passed away April 6, 2014, in Naples. He had family in Dallas. A memorial service was held July 18 in Church of Christ Uniting, West Market Street, Kingston.

WILKES-BARRE — Florence L. Herchick, 92, passed away July 9, 2014, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a resident since 2008. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (German) Pahler. She had family in Dallas. Mass of Christian Burial was held July 14 in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Hanover Township.

PITTSTON — Suzanne C. Giarratano, 64, of Pittston, passed away unexpectedly, at home, surrounded by her loving family on July 13, 2014. She had family in Dallas. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 16 in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. Visitation was held July 15 at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.

DALLAS — Rita Ann Satkowski, 84, formerly of West Pittston, passed away July 11, 2014, in Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas. Born in Pittston, December 25, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Felice and Genevieve Ann Sandor Aufiere. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 15 in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.

ONEY

MOOSIC — Andrew D. Oney 74, of Moosic, died July 12, 2014, at Geisinger Celtic Hospice. In November, he would have been married to Claudine P. Miner Oney for 53 years. He was born in Harveys Lake. The burial was private at the request of the family. Arrangements were made by the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor.

DALLAS — Blanche A. Fuhrer, 94, of Hillcrest Drive, Dallas, died July 11, 2014, at Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fuhrer, in 1996. Burial was in Beverly National Cemetery, Edgewater Park, New Jersey. Arrangements by Yeosock Funeral Home, Plains Township.

WILKES-BARRE — John Shields Carr, 72, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away July 14, 2014, with his family by his side. He had family in Dallas. Celebration of John’s life was held July 17 from McLaughlin’s – the Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with funeral Mass in the Church of St. Aloysius.

TUNKHANNOCK — Florence M. Kellow Hustedt, died July 12, 2014, at the Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock. She was the widow of the late Walter “Bill” Hustedt, who died in 1991. A graveside service was held July 18 at the Dunmore Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

DALLAS — Joan U. John, 80, of Newberry Estates, Dallas, died unexpectedly July 15, 2014, at General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 19 in Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

WILKES-BARRE — John D. “Jack” Jones, 94, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on July 14, 2014, at the Meadow Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas, surrounded by his loving family. He had family in Shavertown. Funeral services were held July 18 from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre.

TUNKHANNOCK — Ramona E. Urbanis, Tunkhannock, died July 14, 2014, in the Celtic Hospice Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Urbanis. Funeral services were July 17 from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.

WYOMING — Thomas F. Ansilio Sr., 84, of Wyoming, passed away July 14, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Louise Murray Ansilio, and had family in Dallas. A private Catholic Mass and burial were held with his family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.

KINGSTON TWP. — Mr. Raymond “Jango” A. Metzo Sr., 86, of Firecut Road, Kingston Township, passed into eternal life on July 14, 2014, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness. Funeral services were private and at the convenience of his family from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
