Allison Zablocky and Nicole Slavoski, members of Holy Redeemer High School’s Class of 2014, have received appointments to two of the nation’s top military academies.

Zablocky has been appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, and Slavoski has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.

Both are among a select group of applicants accepted to the highly competitive programs, where only 10 percent of applicants receive appointments. They were admitted based on their outstanding record of academic and extracurricular achievement at Holy Redeemer. They will undergo four years of academic, physical, and military training before beginning their military careers.

Zablosky is the daughter of Michael and Jo Ann Zablocky, of Wyoming. Slavoski is the daughter of Michael and Linda Slavoski, of Shavertown.

Both girls were presented with their certificates of appointment at Holy Redeemer’s senior awards presentation by representatives from West Point and the Air Force Academy.
