Veterans outreach hours in the 117th Legislative District for the month of January have been announced by State Rep. Karen Boback. The hours are subject to change due to the weather.
Some of the services provided at the center for veterans and their dependents include individual, group, family and bereavement counseling, medical referrals, assistance in applying for Veterans Affairs benefits, employment counseling, guidance and referrals, and alcohol and drug assessments.
In an effort to address federal and state issues across the 117th Legislative District, U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta hosts a monthly casework day at Boback’s district offices in Dallas, located at the Twin Stacks Center, 1108 Twin Stacks Drive, and Tunkhannock, 608 Hunter Highway, Suite 110.
Patrick Rogan, a caseworker for Barletta, will be available from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 13 at Boback’s Dallas office, and then from 1 to 3 p.m., at her Tunkhannock office. He will be available to help constituents having problems with federal agencies and programs. Constituents are encouraged to bring documents they have received from federal agencies related to their issues.
Boback will host her veterans’ assistance hours at her Dallas district office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Each month during these hours, Boback hosts a claims consultant from the Wilkes-Barre Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to address questions and concerns of local veterans and their families. No appointment is necessary.
