Benco Dental recently donated $10,000 to victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines to help purchase winterized tents, tarps and blankets; mobile medical clinics; newborn kits of diapers, lotion and warm baby clothes.

Benco asked its employees to donate funds, too.

Super Typhoon Haiyan made landfall in the Philippines Nov. 8, affecting at least 13 million people. In an area more than 300 miles wide- about the distance from Boston to Philadelphia- the typhoon claimed 4,200 lives, injured another 12,500 and left a reported 4 million displaced. Meteorologists are calling Typhoon Haiyan the largest storm to ever form on the planet.
