ROUNDTABLE MEETS

The Wyoming Valley Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 in the lower level of the Daddow-Isaacs American Legion, 730 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

The speaker for the evening will be Donald Holdridge, of South Gibson, who will portray Emory Upton of the 121st New York. He will speak on abolition, West Point and the Battle of Spottsylvania Courthouse.

Also Robin Thompson will give her presentation about Lee’s headquarters that was her home before the battle of Gettysburg.

‘NUNSENSE A-MEN’

AT MUSIC BOX

“Nunsense A-Men,” the classic hit musical with men playing the nuns’ roles will be presented June 12-15 and 19-22 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoyersville.

BINGO PLANNED

Bingo will be held on Monday, June 16 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall in Centermoreland. Doors open at 5 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverage will be available.

SAFE BOATING CLASS

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 15-03 will offer its final 2014 Safe Boating Class from 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 17 and 18 at the American Legion, Route 415, Harveys Lake. This course qualifies those who pass to obtain their PA Boaters Education Certificate and Card, which entitles them to operate boats and personal watercrafts on Pennsylvania’s rivers and lakes.

Participants must be at least 12 years old. Reservations should be made in advance by calling Kwiatkowski at 570-815-0471. fee is $25 payable at the door on the first night of the class.

NEPA Inclusive

plans meeting

NEPA Inclusive, a non-profit organization dedicated to “creating inclusive lives for people with disabilities” will hold an informational meeting at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18 at the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, 104 Kennedy Boulevard, Pittston.

NEPA Inclusive is a qualified provider of habilitation, companion services and supported employment for waiver recipients. The focus of the open meeting is to introduce the public to the services NEPA Inclusive provides and to have an open dialogue of the needs of individuals with disabilities.

HOURS CANCELLED

Dallas Borough tax office hours for Saturday, June 21 have been cancelled. The office will be open from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25.
