LAKE HARMONY — Joseph Christopher “Chrissy” Allan, 60, formerly of West Pittston and recently of Lake Harmony, passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2014, surrounded by his family. He had family in Dallas. Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 27 in St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston. Arrangements were by Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.
WILKES-BARRE — Carl E. Charnetski, 87, formerly of Kingston, died Sept. 24, 2014, in Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Irene J. Zawacki, and had family in Harveys Lake. Calling hours were held Sept. 27 at the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston.
DALLAS — Frank Charles “Fritz” Gelsleichter Jr., of Dallas, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 25, 2014, at the age of 85, at his residence in Dallas. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, the former Janice Marie Bellas. Funeral services were held Sept. 29 from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
LARKSVILLE — Ann Marie C. Lesnick-Niznik, 73, of Larksville and Dallas, wife of the late Paul N. Niznik, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord, Sept. 25, 2014, with her family at her side. Funeral services were held Sept. 29 from the Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals Inc., 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with funeral liturgyin St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 321 Chestnut Ave., Kingston.
DALLAS — Shirley Caroline Noon died, at the age of 79, on Sept. 25, 2014, of natural causes while embraced by family. A joint Mass of Christian Burial for both, Shirley and Thomas Noon, was held Sept. 27 in Our Lady of Victory, Harveys Lake. Local arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
PLAINS TWP. — Geraldine A. (Grace) Kovaleski, affectionately known as “Gerrie,” 71, a resident of Plains Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Sept. 25, 2014, at her home. Her loving husband is Joseph S. Kovaleski Sr. She had family in Trucksville. The funeral was conducted Sept. 30 from the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville.
TUNKHANNOCK — John J. Mikush, 83, of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sept. 23, 2014. Jack is survived by his wife, Dottie Mikush, with whom he recently celebrated his 56th wedding anniversary. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Oct. 12 in the Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Tunkhannock. There will be a gathering for family and friends preceding the service at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
DALLAS — Stanley Keith Hertzberg, 68, son of Bess and Meyer Hertzberg, a resident of Newberry Estates, passed away Sept. 26, 2014. A service was held Sept. 29 at Temple B’nai B’rith in Kingston. Shiva was observed Sept. 29 and 30 at the family home, 643 Meadows Lane, Dallas. Arrangements by Rosenberg Funeral Chapel Inc., Wilkes-Barre.
TRUCKSVILLE — Margaret “Peggy” Dwyer, 60, of Trucksville, formerly of Plymouth, died Sept. 26, 2014, at the Kingston Manor Nursing Center, Kingston. Memorial service was held Oct. 4 at the William A. Reese Funeral Chapel, rear 56 Gaylord Ave., Plymouth.
NANTICOKE — Delphine Lazur, 77, died Sept. 27, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lazur, and had family in Dallas. A private funeral service was held at the Lohman Funeral Home, Nanticoke, at the convenience of the family.
CHASE — Robert F. Sherwood, 87, of Chase, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 26, 2014. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Florence Sherwood, Chase. Funeral services were held on Oct. 2 from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.
HARVEYS LAKE — Mary E. Lyons, 85, of Harveys Lake, passed away Sept. 29, 2014, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale K. Lyons. A viewing was held Oct. 2, followed by a funeral Mass at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home.
