Mary Joan Meehan, left, one of the founders of Project DJ, (Donating Joy), was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Women of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Dallas. She was introduced by church member Carol Hobbs, right, a member of the quilting group.

Project DJ is an outreach of the Trucksville United Methodist Church. The group makes and accepts handmade quilts which are distributed to people in the community in need of comfort, security and tender loving care. Recipients are mostly children who are seriously ill or dealing with trauma.

The group is in its 12th year, and to date, has made and donated more than 8,000 quilts to those in need.

Project DJ is a non-profit, tax exempt, non-denominational volunteer group. Monetary and material donations are received from members and people in the community.

Anyone wishing to help may contact Project DJ in care of Trucksville United Methodist Church, 40 Knob Hill Road, Trucksville, PA 18708.
