Reps. Karen Boback (R-Columbia/Luzerne/Wyoming) and Sandra Major (R-Susquehanna/Wayne/Wyoming) will host a Senior Expo for residents of the 117th and 111th Legislative Districts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Triton Hose Co. located along West Tioga Street in Tunkhannock.

This expo is designed to bring representatives from the state and local agencies and services together and allow senior citizens to learn more about them and to ask questions. Health-related screenings, including glaucoma screenings, hearing tests and blood pressure checks, will also be offered.

Optional mini break-out sessions will be held on the following topics: senior legal issues, fraud and identity theft, and senior safety.

The Wyoming County Department of Health is planning to offer adult immunizations for those without insurance or whose insurance does not cover the vaccine. There will be a $5 administration fee requested from those who have income above the financial guidelines. In addition, North Central Sight Services will collect residential documents to be shredded from 10 a.m. to noon.
