Car and

truck show

Dallas High School Economics Club will hold its third annual car and truck show today, Sept. 28 at the Dallas High School parking lot.

Registration is $ 10 per vehicle and will be from 9 a.m. to noon with judging from 2 to 4 p.m. and award presentation to follow. Twenty-five top awards trophies and five special awards trophies will be given. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 50 registrants.

Food and beverages will be available along with bathroom facilities.

Library program

The Friends of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library at Misericordia University will present author, photographer and journalist Sally Wiener Grotta for the talk, “Living the Creative Life,” at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22 in the Catherine Evans McGowan Room on the third floor of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library.

Grotta will discuss the synthesis that it takes to be a creative individual combining irrationality, practicality, ingenuity, discipline and hard work while maintaining humor and common sense. She will share insights, anecdotes and experiences that will inspire creativity in both the large and small moments of daily life.
