TUNKHANNOCK — Gifford “Giff” Leroy Sands, 83, of Tunkhannock, passed away Oct. 27, 2014, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruby Carpenter Sands. Funeral services were held Oct. 31 in Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
PITTSTON — Guy J. Pisano, 75, of Pittston, passed away Oct. 28, 2014, in Highland Manor, Exeter. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Ida Milazzo Pisano. He had family in Tunkhannock. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.
DALLAS — Evelyn Maureen Finlay, 77, of Dallas, passed away peacefully in her home on Oct. 27, 2014, surrounded by her family. Calling hours were held Nov. 3 at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.
EDWARDSVILLE — Nancy Menkavitch, 81, of Edwardsville, died Oct. 28, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her former husband and best friend, Anthony Menkavitch. She had family in Harveys Lake. Funeral was Oct. 31 from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston.
DALLAS — Andrea Evelyn “Teeter” Molski, 71, of Dallas, passed away Oct. 26, 2014, at her residence in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert John Molski. A memorial service was held Nov. 3 in the Mount Olivet Cemetery Chapel. Arrangements were under the direction of the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
WYOMING — George C. Metz, 67, of Wyoming, passed away Oct. 28, 2014, in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Surviving is his wife of 46 years, the former Jean Emershaw. He had family in Tunkhannock and Dallas. Services were held Nov. 3 at the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
ARLINGTON, Va. — Charles F. McGuire, 89, of Arlington and formerly of Pittston, died Oct. 22, 2014, at The Fountains at Washington House, Alexandria, Virginia. He had family in Dallas. Calling hours were held Nov. 1 at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston, followed by a funeral Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
TRUCKSVILLE — Harriet Haughwout, 69, of Trucksville, died at Timber Ridge Health Care Center on Oct. 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Haughwou. Funeral was held Nov. 3 at Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave. Forty Fort.
TUNKHANNOCK — Doris J. Clark, of Tunkhannock, died Oct. 30, 2014, in Tyler Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Nov. 3 in the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church. Arrangements were by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., Tunkhannock.
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Paul K. McDermott, 66, a resident of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home and a former resident of Harveys Lake, passed away on Oct. 30, 2014, following a lengthy and courageous bout with cancer. Celebration of Paul’s life was held Nov. 6 in the Church of St. Elizabeth, Route 115, Bear Creek. Paul’s family is being assisted by McLaughlin’s.
DALLAS — Kenneth C. Macdougall, 84, of Dallas, passed away Oct. 30, 2014, at Lakeside Nursing Center, Dallas. Surviving is his wife, the former Elizabeth Wayda. A memorial service was held Nov. 7 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Arrangements are under the direction of the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
KINGSTON — Anna A. Novroski, 95, a former resident of McHale Street, Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2014, at Kingston Health Care Center, Kingston, where she had been a guest for the past five years. Her beloved husband of 65 years, was the late Henry C. Novroski, former Mayor of Swoyersville, who passed away on April 27, 2008. She had family in Shavertown. Funeral was conducted Nov. 6 from the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville.
