Lake-Lehman and Dallas had their football seasons come to an end with road losses against top-seeded teams in the District 2 semifinals.

Lake-Lehman was trying to defend its Class AA championship when it lost, 21-7, at Dunmore.

Dallas was overwhelmed by unbeaten Crestwood, 56-0, in Class AAA.

Both teams finished the season with 6-5 overall records.

Lake-Lehman trailed, 14-7, late in the third quarter when it lined up for a 40-yard field goal attempt.

Colin Holmes, who carried 24 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Dunmore offense, broke through to block the field goal. Holmes then picked up the ball and returned it 61 yards for a back-breaking touchdown.

Neither team scored again.

Nick Eury ran 41 yards for the only Lake-Lehman touchdown, forcing a 7-7 tie midway through the second quarter. He finished 9-for-71 rushing and caught two passes for 48 yards.

The win was Dunmore’s 10th straight since losing the opener against Class AAA playoff qualifier Scranton Prep.

Dallas came up short against state-ranked Crestwood, the highest-scoring team in District 2 in any classification. The Comets scored 28 points in each half.
