ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT

GROUP MEETS

The Dallas Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 5 in the Chapel of the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 4 E. Center Hill Road.

NATURE CAMP

Registration for 2014 nature campus will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7 at Pavilion No. 1 at Frances Slocum State Park. Space is limited so registration will be offered on a first-come/first-served basis.

A non-refundable fee of $25 per child is due at registration. Checks should be made to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

BICYCLE RALLY

Cub Scout Pack 281 will hold a bicycle safety rally from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 7 outside the Dallas Elementary School. Children may register their bike to protect it from theft and there will be bicycle and helmet safety checks and an obstacle course.

There will also be information for elementary-age boys interested in becoming Cub Scouts.

ROUNDTABLE MEETS

The Wyoming Valley Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 in the lower level of the Daddow-Isaacs American Legion, 730 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

The speaker for the evening will be Donald Holdridge, of South Gibson, who will portray Emory Upton of the 121st New York. He will speak on abolition, West Point and the Battle of Spottsylvania Courthouse.

Also Robin Thompson will give her presentation about Lee’s headquarters that was her home before the battle of Gettysburg.

‘NUNSENSE A-MEN’

“Nunsense A-Men,” the classic hit musical with men playing the nuns’ roles will be presented June 12-15 and 19-22 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoyersville.
