Penn State Wilkes-Barre will holding the a Zombie 5K run/walk benefitting THON at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus with registration beginning at 10 a.m.

The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately known as THON, is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON, a yearlong effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer, has raised more than $114 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital since 1977. THON 2015 will take place from Feb. 20t-22, 2015 at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center.

In anticipation of THON 2015, Penn State Wilkes-Barre students invite the local community to celebrate both the THON and Halloween spirit. T

Participants will have the choice to dress as a Zombie ($25 registration fee) or Human ($30 registration fee) but all will be followed throughout the course by “The Running Dead.” The course is both runner and walker friendly and does not have a time restriction.

Registrations received by Oct. 15 will be guaranteed a Zombie 5K t-shirt. Participants under 18 must be accompanies by a parent or guardian for the entire duration of the Zombie 5K.
