State Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20th) and State Sen. John Yudichak (D-14th), are urging local senior citizens to come out to their 2014 Luzerne County Senior Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the 109th Field Artillery Armory, 280 Market St. in Wilkes-Barre.

Information that will be available to attendees are related to government services, Social Security, health care and insurance, legal issues and fraud protection, senior financial issues and exercise and nutrition tips.

The Senior Expo will feature vendors from local, county and state agencies to answer questions and provide useful information about their programs and services to seniors. In addition, there will be free refreshments, giveaways and free health screenings.

Among the more than 70 vendors expected are: The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police; Health care organizations such as Bayada, Commonwealth Health, Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, AmeriHealth and Allied Services Nursing; and health care students from local colleges.
