‘THE KING AND I’

The Music Box Players present Rodgers and Hammersteins’ classic musical, “The King and I,” today, Feb. 16 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoyersville.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. and curtain at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. Doors open at 1 p.m. with a buffet dinner at 1:30 p.m. and curtain at 3 p.m. on Sundays.

BREAKFAST BUFFET

The Noxen Volunteer Fire Company will hold a breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Feb. 16 at the fire hall, Stull Road, Noxen.

Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years of age.

BINGO SET

Bingo will be held on Monday, Feb. 24 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall In Centermoreland. Doors open at 5 p.m. and early birds start at 6:30 o.m. Food and beverages will be available.

ROAST BEEF DINNER

A roast beef dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall in Centermoreland.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $4 for the children udner the age or 12 and are available at the door. Eat in or take out.

DEMOCRATIC WOMEN’S

GROUP WILL MEET

The Democratic Women’s Group of the Back Mountain will meet for the first time at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 in a lower level room of the Dallas American Legion, Memorial Highway.

Subsequent meetings will take place on the fourth Thursday of each month at the same venue.

The group, which is open to all Democratic women in the Greater Back Mountain and Wyoming Valley, will provide a platform for meeting and discussion for today’s Democratic women.

GRANGE MEETINGS

For the winter months of February and March, Mountain Grange No. 567 will meet at noon on March 4 at Angelo’s Restaurant in the Midway Shopping Center, Wyoming. Members should note the change of time and place for these two months.

LIBRARY LUNCHEON

The Friends of the Back Mountain Memorial Library have set Thursday, April 24 for their annual Luncheon With A Special Author. The event will take place at the Appletree Terrace, Newberry Estate, Dallas.

Tickets will go on sale in March at the library on Huntsville Road in Dallas.

CONSERVATION MIXER

Pheasants Forever Chapter 803 will hold its first-ever community conservation mixer on Saturday, March 8 at Appletree Terrace at Newberry Estate.

Participants will be able to obtain information on conservation projects and activities in the area and tell hunting stories. Thirteen loasl conservation organizations will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

Cost of $20 per person includes food and drinks (beer, wine and soda). Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, may be obtained by calling 570-477-4668.
