Mary Lou Montgomery has been behind the bar at III Guys Pizzeria and Restaurant for more than 10 years. She is now a four-time winner in this category, having also won in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

Fire & Ice on Toby Creek

​Happy Hour at Fire and Ice on Toby Creek is the place to be between 5 and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All liquor, beer and wine is half off in the bar only. “We get a good crowd,” said Danielle, a bartender at the restaurant. People can order off of the regular menu if they choose and on Sunday, Miller Light is $1.25 all day.

Fire & Ice on Toby Creek

Over the years, bartenders at Fire and Ice have mixed more than 30 varieties of martinis so it’s no wonder Fire and Ice was chosen Best of the Back Mountain by The Dallas Post readers. Currently, the restaurant has 11 featured martinis on its drink menu. Tthe most popular is the Cosmopolitan, while one of the most unusual martinis listed on the menu is the St. Gintini, mixed with Bombay Sapphire, St. Germain elderflower liqueur ​and dry vermouth. Bartenders will attempt to make any martini concoction as long as they have the ingredients on hand.

Spotzy’s Sports Bar

Spotzy’s Sports Bar is inside the Checkerboard Inn on Carverton Road in Trucksville and has everything a corner bar should have – pool tables, Foosball, darts and an extensive menu.

Fire & Ice on Toby Creek

With various wines on the list, Fire & Ice takes home the award for Best Wine List. A vast selection of grapes and a full wine list helped steer Back Mountain voters in favor of Fire & Ice. Co-owner Gary Edwards says wine by the glass is the most popular offering, but it all depends on what the customers are in the mood for on any particular night.

Metro Bar & Grill

Whether it’s karaoke Wednesday, live music on weekends or just enjoying a few drinks with dinner, Metro Bar & Grill is the place to go. The two-story restaurant has plenty of space to accommodate numerous amounts of people and also has an outdoor patio with a bar open during the warmer months of the year.

PLACE FOR NIGHT TIME ENTERTAINMENT

Grotto Pizza

Winning the award in this category for the first time is Grotto Pizza at Harveys Lake. Grotto Pizza features live entertainment on weekends, which, according to manager Raymond Fenner, is different every night. Various types of music graces the restaurant on Fridays, such as rock or jazz, and country music can usually be heard on Saturdays. While taking in the entertainment, customers can enjoy foods such as appetizers, wings, pizza and a large selection of draft beers and bottle beers along with mixed drinks.
