Dallas standouts Regan Rome and Dominic DeLuca each finished second in the 3000-meter run on March 1 in the Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association indoor state championships at Penn State University.

Rome finished in 9:57.36, placing between a pair of PIAA champions. Tessa Barrett, of Abington Heights, the state Class AAA cross country champion in the fall, won in a record time of 9:36.45. Unionville’s Courtney Smith, the Class AAA state 3200-meter champion last spring, was third in 10:00.69.

DeLuca took second in 8:42.15, finishing behind only Fox Chapel’s Colin Martin.
