BREAKFAST BUFFET

The Noxen Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, March 16 at the fire hall on Stull Road, Noxen.

Price is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years of age.

HAM DINNER

The Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Company will hold a family-style ham dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 with takeouts beginning at 4 p.m.

Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children under 6 years of age.

POLAR BEAR

PLUNGE SLATED

The annual Polar Bear Plunge will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 at Pole 150 (near the former Hanson’s Amusement Park) at Harveys Lake.

BINGO PLANNED

Bingo will be held on Monday, March 24 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall in Centermoreland. Doors open at 5 p.m. and early birds start at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverage will be available.

ROAST BEEF

DINNER SET

A roast beef dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26 at the Northmoreland Twp. Fire Hall in Centermoreland.

Ticket are $8 for adults and $4 for children under the age of 12 and will be available at the door. Takeouts will be available.

MOUNTAIN GRANGE

MEETING SET

Mountain Grange No. 567 will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. on April 1 in the Grange Hall, 1632 W. 8th St., Kingston Township.

Speaker for the evening will be Thomas Jesso, president of The Shawnee Cemetery Preservation Association who will speak about how to save forgotten cemeteries overgrown by Mother Nature.

PLOT DECORATIONS

MUST BE REMOVED

Officers of the burial ground surrounding the Trucksville United Methodist Church request that plot owners and descendants responsible for plots remove all decorations by April 1 to make spring cleanup possible.

CONTRA DANCE

A Contra dance featuring music by fiddlers Bruce Young and Ryck Kaiser with pianist Peggy Shutes and calling by Ted Crane will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the Church of Christ Uniting, 776 Market St., Kingston.

No partner or previous experience is necessary. Admission to the dance is “pay what you wish.” Come early at 6 p.m. for a pot-luck dinner.

CONSERVATION MIXER

Pheasants Forever Chapter 803 will hold its first-ever community conservation mixer on Saturday, March 8 at Appletree Terrace at Newberry Estate.

Participants will be able to obtain information on conservation projects and activities in the area and tell hunting stories. Thirteen loasl conservation organizations will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

Cost of $20 per person includes food and drinks (beer, wine and soda). Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, may be obtained by calling 570-477-4668.
