DALLAS — Helen M. Woznicki, 98, of Dallas, passed away May 11, 2014, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Funeral was held May 15 from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

JONES CREEK, Texas — Thomas L. Grant, 54, of Jones Creek and formerly of Nanticoke, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at home following an illness. He had family in Jackson Township. An interment service was held May 17 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

DALLAS — John J. Bartnick Jr., 79, of Dallas, passed away May 12, 2014, at Wilkes Barre General Hospital. John was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gail Seidel, in 2012. Funeral was May 16 at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

WEISS

SARASOTA, Fla. — Geraldine “Gerry” London Weiss, formerly of Kingston and Dallas, as well as Sarasota, passed away May 14, 2014, after a long battle with cancer which she courageously fought for nearly five years. She lived her life to the fullest and refused to give up, accepting her fate but not bowing to it. She is survived by her husband, Stanford “Sandy” Weiss, Sarasota. Mrs. Weiss was buried in Mount Sinai Cemetery in Daytona Beach, Florida, in a private family service.

KINGSTON – “Chef” Jawad Ghannam passed away peacefully in his home on May 8, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. He had family in Shavertown.

SCRANTON — Carl Edward Lesh Jr., Scranton, died May 8, 2014, at the Regional Hospital in Scranton. His wife is the former June Keeler Lesh. He had family in Tunkhannock. The Mass of Christian burial was held from Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State S., Clarks Summit. Arrangements by Lawerence E. Young Funeral Home.

DALLAS — Lois R. Renwick, 85, of Dallas, formerly of Shickshinny, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at Commonwealth Hospice, St. Luke’s Villa, Wilkes-Barre. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck.

ARCHBALD — Jean Quinn Rogan, 94, a lifelong resident of Archbald, passed away on May 18, 2014, at Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton, while comforted by her loving family. She was the widow of John P. Rogan, who passed away in 1967. She had family in Dallas. A Mass celebrating Jean’s life was held May 21 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Christ the King Parish, 411 Church St., Archbald. Arrangements were by the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Archbald.

NANTICOKE — Henry C. Novak, 90, of East Grand Street, Nanticoke, passed away May 17, 2014, at Kingston Health & Hospice Center. He was married to the former Anna Obaza Novak, who preceded him in death. He had family in Shavertown. Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family, with arrangements by the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., Nanticoke.
