Rock Solid is moving

Rock Solid Academy will move to a new location for the 2014/15 school year as it will occupy a portion of the former Westmoreland School on Lehigh Street in Shavertown.

RSA will take over 15,000 square feet of space, which includes the restored gymnasium. The school recently hosted tours for its board, honorary pastoral board, parents, students and friends to show off the new facility.

The school has already had a playset donated for the large outside play area and will have separate space the high school students. Solid Cactus, the former tenant of the space, was an internet-based company, so the school has enhanced security and the infrastructure necessary for the school’s expanding blended-model online high school.

Rock Solid Academy will host a community open house at the new location, 106 S. Lehigh St., Shavertown, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1. Anyone who would like to attend is asked to email Mark DiPippa at mdipippa@rocksolidacademy.org or call the school at 570-675-ROCK (7625).
