TRUCKSVILLE — Diane M. Adanosky Zavislak, 57, of Trucksville, passed away on April 19, 2014. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 21 years, Gerard Zavislak. A memorial service was held April 25 at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.

PLAINS TWP. — Erald A. Biondi, 85, of Plains Township, passed peacefully at home April 24, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He had family in Dallas. Funeral services were April 26 at the Michael J. Mikelski Funeral Home, 293 S. River St., Plains Township. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township.

KINGSTON TWP. — Mrs. Sophie (Dolhon) Metzo, 85, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, and currently a resident of Kingston Township, passed into eternal life on Good Friday, April 18, 2014, in the presence of her loving family at Manor Care, Second Avenue, Kingston, after a short illness. Memorial funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family, with arrangements by the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., north Wilkes-Barre location.

WILKES-BARRE — Sophie R. Malys, 88, passed away Wednesday evening, April 23, 2014 at the Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre. She had family in Harveys Lake. Funeral services were April 28 from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township.

FRANKLIN TWP. — On April 24, 2014, Heaven gained an angel when Donna Owen, 67, of Franklin Township, passed into the arms of the Lord. DALLAS — Arlene E. Besecker, 43, of Dallas, passed away April 25, 2014, at Commonwealth Hospice at St. Luke’s Villa, Wilkes-Barre. A celebration of Arlene’s life was held April 29 in Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas, with arrangements by the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

DALLAS — Sister Mary Avila Long, RSM, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Community of the Sisters of Mercy, died on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Mercy Center, Dallas. A celebration of Sister Avila’s life with prayer service and Mass of Christian Burial was held April 28 at Mercy Center, Dallas.

DALLAS — Sister Magdala Wallace, RSM, 91, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Community of the Sisters of Mercy, died at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on April 26, 2014. A prayer service was celebrated April 29 at Mercy Center, Dallas, with the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on April 30.

SHAVERTOWN — David Russell, 54, of Shavertown, husband of the former Sally Kemler, died suddenly April 27, 2014, at his home. Services were held April 30 at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

DALLAS — Frederick A. Tinklepaugh, 100, of Dallas, passed away April 27, 2014, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jean Wilbur, in 2001. Funeral was April 30 from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

NEWTOWN SQUARE — Donald Scott Mills, 70, of Newtown Square, died April 24, 2014, at his home. During his life, he worked 38 years in the banking industry. He had family in Shavertown. A memorial servicewas held April 30 in Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.

DALLAS — Mrs. Betty Jane (Andrews) Dwyer, 88, of Dallas, formerly of Hanover Township and Wilkes-Barre, passed away on April 25, 2014. Betty was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all who knew her. Visitation was held April 30 at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Funeral services May 1 at the funeral home.
