The annual Polar Bear Plunge was held in frigid temperatures last Sunday at Harveys Lake. The plunge is held in memory of Dr. Frank ‘Buddy’ Boris, a popular Back Mountain dentist who died of cancer in 2003. The event was started by Allison Boris in 2005 in honor of her father. She organized the event to raise money to sponsor a team in the Relay for Life walkathon. The event is sponsored every year by students at Lake-Lehman High School as part of their senior project.
