The next meeting of the Back Mountain Ecumenical Group on Jan. 21 will feature the presentation of a check for

$7,001 to the 1st Lt. Michael Cleary Memorial Fund.

The money was raised by the BMMEG at the Veteran’s Day Concert at the Shavertown United Methodist Church on Nov.10.

Speakers at the breakfast will be Jack Cleary, father of Lt. Michael Cleary, and Charles Barber, representing the

Luzerne Foundation which administers the 1st Lt. Michael Cleary Memorial Fund.

The BMMEG meets at the Irem Country Club at 8 a.m. every Tuesdaywith 50 to 70 men attending. There are no dues assessed. The buffet breakfast costs $8 which includes a tip. A voluntary contribution of $1 per person is made which is passed on to four local charities.
