TUNKHANNOCK — Harold A. Grow, 93, of Tunkhannock, passed away at his house onJan. 21, 2014. Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
TUNKHANNOCK — Lynda L. Dyson, 54, of Tunkhannock, died in Homestead, Fla., on Jan. 17, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Kevin D. Dyson. A gathering of friends and family was held Jan. 25 at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, followed by a memorial service.
DALLAS — Bryce B. Smith, 66, of Dallas, passed away Jan. 20, 2014, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Emporia, Kan., he was a son of the former Betty Casebier and the late Richard Smith. Funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of the family with arrangements under the direction of the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
HUNLOCK CREEK — Bertha M. Sholtis, 96, of Hunlock Creek, passed away Jan. 23, 2014, at Fernwood Personal Care Center. She resided in Lehman for most of her life. Funeral was held Jan. 27 from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Mass in Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.
WILKES-BARRE — Magdalen M. Gates, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, died Jan. 23, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. She had family in Shavertown. Funeral was Jan. 25 from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin.
DALLAS — Marietta E. Gay, 92, of Dallas, passed away Jan. 23, 2014, at Wilkes Barre General Hospital. Funeral was held Jan. 27 from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
SHAVERTOWN — A memorial service for Charles Skea Nicol Jr., 97, of Shavertown, who passed into eternity with the Lord on Dec. 24, 2013, at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas, was held Jan. 25 at the Wyoming Avenue Christian Church, 881 Wyoming Ave., Kingston.
TRUCKSVILLE — Robert Booth, of Trucksville, passed away Jan. 21, 2014, at the Meadow Nursing Center in Dallas. A blessing service and funeral were held Jan. 27 from the Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville.
COURTDALE — Sandra F. Pellam, 64, of Center Street, Courtdale, died Jan. 24, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family. She had family in Tunkhannock. Funeral was Jan. 27 from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a church service in Bennett Presbyterian Church, Luzerne.
DALLAS — Willard Jason “Bill” Race Sr., 80, a lifelong resident of Dallas, passed on to his eternal home on Jan. 25, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Memorial service was Jan. 29 in the Centermoreland United Methodist Church.
PITTSTON — Rose Galasso, 93, of Pittston, was called up by her heavenly father to pitch in her Field of Dreams on Jan. 25, 2014. She had family in Shavertown. Funeral services were held Jan. 29 from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston.
WILKES-BARRE — Geraldine Daniels, 84, of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Jan. 26, 2014, at home. She had family in Harveys Lake. The funeral was Jan. 28 from E. MARION, Ohio — William “Bill” Jacob Felker, 53, of Hoch Road, Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 2014. He had family in Tunkhannock and Dallas. Bill was united in marriage with his wife of 19 years, Bonnie Perrego Felker, on April 1, 1994. A memorial service was held on Feb. 1 from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
SOUTH AUBURN — Mary Ann Place, 63, of South Auburn, passed away with her family by her side on Monday morning, Jan. 27, 2014, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, after an illness. She had family in Tunkhannock. Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at the Sheldon Funeral Home, state Route 6, Meshoppen, with a Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Joachim Roman Catholic Church.
