RED SOX 2

Joe Walser doubled and homered as the Pirates earned their first win of the season win a 4-2 win over the Red Sox.

Dylan Wesley started and got the win, striking out eight Red Sox. Nathan Salus and Will Youngman combined to close out the game on the mound. On offense, the Pirates were led by Wesley who pitched in with a double of his own.

For the Red Sox, Justin Finarelli pitched a strong four innings, also striking out eight. Finarlelli and Nathan Ostroski doubled in the loss and Lucas McGeehan single for the Sox.

ORIOLES 10

PHILLIES 0

Michael Starbuck struck out six and allowed only one hit as the Orioles blanked the Phillies, 10-0.

Todd Phillips and Starbuck delivered three hits each and Jake Connolly added two singles for the winners. Joey Aliciene and A.J. Bednar both doubled and Nate Savignano ripped a key RBI single for the O’s.

J&J Deli Phillies’ Alex Magdalinski had the only hit for the Phils and Aidan Conrad pitched excellent, recording three strikeouts in one inning of work.

YANKEES 3

Orioles’ pitchers Jake Connolly and A.J. Bednar combined on a one-hitter and five strike outs as the Orioles ripped the Yankeesm 13-3.

Todd Phillips tripled and doubled and Brandon Fleschut and Connolly had two hits each in the win. Joey Aliciene doubled and Kurtis Ryniec ripped a key single for the O’s.

Yankees’ Dylan Schuster smashed a three-run homer and struck out six batters in the loss, while Nick Gashi and Cooper Lewis both scored for the Yankees

PIRATES 15

ASTROS 4

Sam Zondlo and Sam Barral combined for seven strikeouts over four innings as the Pirates grounded the Astros, 15-4.

Zondlo, Joe Walser and Will Youngman all had three hits in the win. Youngman rapped two doubles along with Nathan Salus’ two singles and Jared Adamski chipped in with a single for the Pirate offense as well.

The Astros Nick Buffalino, Ben Fife and Jacob Noone struck out three Pirates for the Astros. The Astros’ offense was led by Fife and Noone, who both contributed with a double and a walk while Dakota Banks chipped in with a single.

A’s 1

RED SOX 0

Chris Langan and Will McCrum combined for 10 strikeouts as the A’s nipped the Red Sox, 1-0.

Frankie Nockley had two hits and a run scored and Langan also had a hit for the A’s.

The Red Sox were led by Justin Finarelli who had a strong game on the mound, pitching a full game and allowing only three hits. Ethan Kruger had a hit for the Red Sox and Finarelli added two hits as well.

PHILLIES 11

The Phillies defeated the Red Sox, 11-6.

E.J. Matushek had two hits and scored for the Phillies, supported by the additional hitting and scoring of Michael Sholtis, Aidan Conrad, Xander Shaner, Michael Rother, Evan Hromisin, Zach McEntee and Logan Evanosky. Josiah Thomas pitched well in relief to secure the win.

A great effort by the Red Sox was lead by the multi-hit effort of Ryan Maloney and two runs scored by Justin Finarelli. Nate Ostroski pitched strongly for the Red Sox.”
