The Joan Harris Centre has announced the cast for its 31st annual spring ballet, “The Sleeping Ballet.”

Four of the eight principal roles in the ballet will be performed by Back Mountain residents. Anna Giacometti, of Dallas, will portray the Enchanted Garden Fairy and Lauren Slavoski, of Shavertown, will dance the role of the Crystal Fountain Fairy.

Princess Aurora, a.k.a The Sleeping Beauty, will be assayed by Kelsey Hall, of Dallas, and protagonist of the ballet, the Lilac Fairy, will be performed by Anna James, of Jackson Township.

These young ladies will join nearly 200 other dancers from the Back Mountain communities in three grand productions of this classic work.

These performances mark the 31st year the Joan Harris Centre has staged a full-length ballet featuring all of the students of the school.

“The Sleeping Beauty” will be performed at 1 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 at Meyers High School, Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Tickets are $14 in advance. For more information, call 570-287-7977.
