DALLAS — Are you having trouble getting into the “spirit of the season?” The Joan Harris Dancers have the perfect remedy for you as they plan to share some holiday cheer with their families and friends.

The regional dance troupe will present “Our Christmas Dreams” at 1 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Dallas High School Auditorium.

The pre-show entertainment will feature traditional carols and live music performed by the Harris Conservatory Choir. The performance opens with a large production number in the style of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and never loses pace as the songs progress from traditional favorites to contemporary renditions of the music that defines this most magical time of the year.

Traditional dances, inspirational lyrical pieces, narrative story telling and good old-fashioned song and dance routines will be staged to a plethora of seasonal classics.

The imaginative multimedia piece is directed by Sean Harris and uses various forms of contemporary and classical dance to help the audience follow this beautiful Christmas story. Much of the cast of participating in the weekend performances will be from the Back Mountain Communities.

The Joan Harris Dancers will also host a Toys for Tots drop in partnership with the United States Marine Corps. All attending are invited to bring with them a new, unwrapped toy to donate to this cause.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and are available at the Joan Harris Centre’s campus in the Harris Conservatory in Luzerne. For more information, call 570-287-7977.
