The Noxen Volunteer Fire Company will hold a chicken barbeque from noon to 2 p.m. today, May 18 at the fire hall on Stull Road.
Dine in or take-out dinners will be available. Price is $8 per person.

MEETS TODAY
American Legion District 12 will meet at 2 pm. today, May 18 at the Shickshinny American Legion Post 495. Nominations of officers for 2015- 2016 membership years will be held. All post commanders in Luzerne County on urged to attend or sent a representative.

Cub Scout Pack 281 will hold a sign-up night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20 from at Dallas United Methodist Church for all boys interesting in joining Cub Scouts.
Cub Scouting is for boys who will be in first through fifth grades next school year.

A country/western show featuring “Hillbilly D’Lux” will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at the Irem Pavilion, 70 Ridgway Drive, Dallas.
Coors open at 6 p.m. and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Cost is $12 per person and proceeds will benefit the Irem Shriners.

The Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Memorial Ceremony at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at the Jackson Township Fire Department building, 1160 Chase Road.
Local residents and volunteers will honor those who have given their lives in the service of our communities and nation.
