SABULSKI

MECHANICSBURG — Linda Marie (Barnard) Sabulski, 61, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Boston and Dallas, died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Aug. 2, 2014. A gathering of family and friends was held August 23 at Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with food and fellowship at the Woodlands Inn & Resort, 1073 Highway 315, Wilkes-Barre, following.

CHINTALLA

WILKES-BARRE TWP. — Florence Chintalla, 88, of Wilkes-Barre Township, entered into eternal life on Aug. 12, 2014. She was the widow of the late Joseph Chintalla. She had family in Tunkhannock. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated August 20 in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Arrangements were entrusted to the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.

COOPER

HUNLOCK CREEK — Gerald John Cooper, 77, of Hunlock Creek, passed away Aug. 11, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Coleen Rasmus. A memorial service was held August 15 from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.

GORDA

SHAVERTOWN — John A. Gorda, 63, of Shavertown, passed away on Aug. 15, 2014, at his home. John and his loving wife, Theresa (Krouse) Gorda, would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Oct. 4, 2014. A funeral was conducted August 18 from the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by an Office of Christian Burial with divine liturgy in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 271 Tripp St., Swoyersville.

DALLAS — Marjorie Louise Blank, of Dallas, passed away Aug. 14, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton Blank, in 2002. Funeral was held August 18 from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

KIEFER

DALLAS — Harry Kiefer Jr., 92, of Dallas, passed away Aug. 12, 2014, in The Village at Greenbrier, Dallas. Memorial service was held August 23 in Kingdom Hall, 84 Hildebrant Road, Dallas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

WIMMER

LUZERNE — Margaret E. Wimmer, 90, of Luzerne, passed away peacefully on Aug. 15, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick S. Wimmer, and had family in Harveys Lake. It was Margaret’s wishes that no services be held. A memorial family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

FORTY FORT — Joan Blockus Plava, 84, of Slocum Street, Forty Fort, died on Aug. 15, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Blockus Jr. She had family in Dallas and Harveys Lake. Funeral was held August 20 at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Swoyersville.

SWEINBERG

JENKINS TWP. — Leroy “Lee” A. Sweinberg, 90, formerly of Wyoming, died on Aug. 15, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by loving family. Lee was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Goeringer Sweinberg, in 2007. He had family in Lehman. Funeral was August 19 from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.

POLINSKY

FORTY FORT — Richard J. Polinsky, 89, of Forty Fort, passed away Aug. 16, 2014. He was the husband of the late Della M. Polinsky. Together they shared 65 years of marriage. He had family in Dallas. Funeral services were held August 19 from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville.

DALLAS — Ann McNulty, 72, a resident of Dallas, passed away on Aug. 16, 2014, at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. A memorial Mass was celebrated August 21 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.

BURKE

WILKES-BARRE — Eugene A. Burke, 68, of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Aug. 16, 2014, at his home. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret “Peg” Hogan, with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage on Jan. 24, 2014. He had family in Dallas. Funeral was held August 20 at the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict’s Parish, St. Dominic’s Church, 155 Austin Ave., Parsons.

EVERHART

TRUCKSVILLE — George W. Everhart, of Trucksville, passed away Aug. 15, 2014, in Celtic Healthcare Hospice Inpatient unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife, the former Celestine Fabian, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage this past November. A Mass of Christian Burial was held August 22 in St. Therese’s Church, Davis Street and Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown. Arrangements were provided by the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

KURAS

DALLAS — Clem Kuras, 81, of Dallas, passed away Aug. 12, 2014, at The Meadows Nursing Center. He was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Gutauskas Kuras and was a graduate of Meyers High School. Burial will be held Aug. 24 at St Ann’s RC Cemetery, Lehman. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

OZIMKOWSKI

DALLAS — Sister Stella Maris Ozimkowski, RSM, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Community of the Sisters of Mercy, died Aug. 19, 2014, at Mercy Center, Dallas. Sister Stella was born on March 6, 1929, in Nanticoke, and was a daughter of Edward and Helen Price Ozimkowski. The celebration of her life began with a prayer service and visiting hours on Aug. 21 at the Mercy Center, Dallas. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 22 at Mercy Center Chapel.
