After spending the last 17 seasons as an assistant softball coach at Dallas High School, John McNeal has taken over as the head coach at Wyoming Area this season.
McNeal earlier spent time as an assistant coach at West Side Tech, was a junior high coach at Dallas and freshman coach at Wyoming Area in a career that dates back to the 1970s.
McNeal takes over a team that went 9-5 last year and has several players returning, although he has moved some of them to new positions.
“The girls have adapted to my system pretty well right now,” McNeal said. “It’s an every-day project.”
